Amanda graduated from Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario with a Fine Arts Diploma. She carries a Bachelor’s in History and English Literature from Laurentian University, and a post-grad certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship from Fleming College.
When I'm not making art, I'm (a) ...
Working in museums! I love sharing historical facts and teaching about local history.
Oils at the moment, and my constant medium is spray paint. Every one of my backgrounds starts with me playing with spray paint forms.
How long have you been creating art?
I graduated from Georgian College's art program in 2011, though really focused my art skills prior to that in high school.
Beverage of choice
Tea. I am a tea-freak.
What artists do you admire right now?
I love works produced by Anong Beam, Kaitlin Mason, and Paul Chester - all local Ontario artists, too!
Why is it important for people to have art in their home or life?
Art can be enjoyed at face value for its beauty or vibrant colours, or open an avenue for self-reflection. It's important to have the moments created when viewing art because they offer new ways to experience your world. Without art, life would be dull!
